One. Building a brand is hard enough and at least in the beginning you don’t want to get distracted (and confuse others) by ”we are from $company, you know the ones making $productWithATotallyDifferentName“.

Later you can then rename your holding to Alphabet or Meta.

    Yeah, it’s what I thought at first, but a VC suggested the two names for easier scalability. That’s why I’m asking HN.

      Easier to scale what? Also did they elaborate on how having two names would make that easier?

        He said it will be easier in the future to add new tools, like ByteDance with CapCut and Adobe with Photoshop.

    Agreed. I work for a company that has separate names. Confuses customers and prospects.
